Previewing an Agent Before Launch
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Use Preview to review an agent before you put it in front of website visitors. Previewing is useful after you change instructions, knowledge sources, widget behavior, CTAs, or deployment settings.
Before you begin, open Marketing Agent Configuration and select the agent you want to review.

Confirm the agent identity and active state.
Use the configuration tabs to make changes before testing.
Select Preview to open the visitor experience in a new page.
Open the Preview Control
Open Marketing Agent Configuration.
Select an agent card from Your Agents.
Confirm the agent detail page opens.
Select Preview from the top right of the page.

Select Talk to agent to start the voice-and-text experience.
Select the keyboard control to open the text preview.
The crop excludes local camera, microphone, and speaker selectors. The visible Preview controls are unchanged.
The agent detail page also includes the Agent, Knowledge, Analysis and Actions, Widget, and Deploy tabs. Use these tabs to make changes before previewing again.
Preview mode is the safest place to test the standalone visitor experience before deployment. Use it to validate conversation behavior without installing the widget on a production page.

What to Review Before Launch
Review the agent from the perspective of a website visitor. Focus on:
Whether the greeting and persona match the intended use case.
Whether the agent answers expected product questions correctly.
Whether the agent uses the right knowledge sources.
Whether CTAs and meeting-booking prompts appear at the right time.
Whether handoff behavior matches your team's expectations.
Whether the widget or standalone experience feels ready for visitors.
When to Preview Again
Preview again after changing:
Agent instructions
Persona or greeting
Knowledge sources
Slides or videos
CTAs
Work hours
Agent-to-human handoff settings
Widget behavior
Deployment or access rules
Verify the Preview
Run a short test that represents the complete visitor journey:
Ask a common question that should be answered from the selected knowledge sources.
Ask a question the agent should not answer and confirm it follows your instructions instead of inventing information.
Trigger the intended CTA, meeting-booking flow, or handoff condition.
Repeat the test after changing any setting that affects the response or next step.
The preview is ready when expected questions receive accurate answers, unsupported questions follow your fallback behavior, and the intended next step appears.

Review the agent's opening message.
Use a suggested question or enter a representative test question.
Enter additional test messages in the text field.
