Understanding Active and Draft Agents
Last updated: July 22, 2026
Agent status helps your team understand whether an agent is live or still being configured. You can review status from the Your Agents section of the Agents dashboard.
Before you begin, open Marketing Agent Configuration and confirm you are on the Agents page.
The card status is shown at the top.
The agent identity appears directly below the status.
Recent interaction and engagement metrics appear under Last 7 Days.
This live capture shows the app-native generic Marketing Agent card in Active status. No card value was replaced.

Where Status Appears
Each agent appears as a card under Your Agents. The card includes a status indicator, the agent name, a short description, and recent metrics such as Total Interactions and Engagement.
Active Agents
An Active agent is available in the workspace as an agent your team can open and manage. Active agents may also show recent interaction and engagement metrics on their cards.
Open an active agent card to review its configuration across the Agent, Knowledge, Analysis and Actions, Widget, and Deploy tabs.
Use the agent activation or deactivation control when you need to make an agent available or pause it. Before activating an agent, confirm its knowledge, widget behavior, deployment settings, and follow-up actions are ready.
Draft Agents
A Draft status means the agent is still being configured and is not yet live on your website.
Use draft status when your team is still preparing the agent's instructions, knowledge, widget behavior, deployment settings, or post-call automation.
How to Use Status During Setup
Status | What it means | What to do next |
|---|---|---|
Active | The agent is available for ongoing management and may show performance metrics. | Open the card to review setup, deployment, analytics, and optimization. |
Draft | The agent is still being configured and is not live on the website. | Finish required setup and verify the agent before deploying it. |
Troubleshooting
Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
You expected an agent to be live but it is still draft | Review the agent's configuration and deployment readiness. |
You cannot find a draft agent | Clear Search agents and review the full Your Agents list. |
Metrics look empty | The agent may not have recent interactions yet, or it may not be deployed to a visitor-facing surface. |
