Configuring Slides for Marketing Agent Conversations
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Your Marketing Agent can pull up a slide mid-conversation, the way a good presenter reaches for the right chart at the right moment. It does not play a deck from start to finish. It picks the slide that answers what the visitor just asked.
This guide shows you how to add decks to an agent, control when they appear, and check that the right slide shows up.
What do I need before I add slides?
- Access to app.docketai.com.
- An agent to configure.
- A PDF or PPTX deck already in Docket Knowledge Sources. See Uploading Files to Knowledge Sources.
- A quick check that the deck is right for visitors, since these slides are shown to people on your website.
How does the agent decide which slide to show?
The agent reads the conversation and picks a single relevant slide from the decks you added. It presents that slide at the moment it supports the answer, then keeps talking.
In Voice & Text mode the agent narrates the slide aloud. In Text Only mode it describes the slide in the chat. You choose the mode on the agent's Agent tab under Interaction Mode.
How do I add a slide deck to my agent?
Slides live on the agent's Knowledge tab, alongside the agent's knowledge sources and videos.
- Open Marketing Agent Configuration and select your agent.
- Open the Knowledge tab.
- Open the Slides section using the chevron on the left of the row.
- Use Search slides to add into the content repository to find your deck. The list shows Slides, Source, and Last Updated for each file.
- Click Add Slide next to each deck you want the agent to use.
- Turn the Slides switch on, at the right of the Slides row, so the agent can present the decks you added.
You can add decks while the switch is off. The switch controls whether the agent presents them, not whether you can build the list.
Which decks are worth adding?
Add the decks that help the agent explain, compare, or make a case. A short, focused list usually beats a large library, because every extra deck is one more thing the agent has to choose between.
- Product overview decks for homepage and product-page agents.
- Pricing, ROI, or packaging decks for pricing-page agents.
- Architecture or security decks for technical buyers.
- Campaign decks for campaign landing pages.
Slides with clear visuals and short text read best in the widget. Dense, text-heavy slides are hard to read at widget size.
How do I remove a deck or turn slides off?
To remove one deck, find it in the Slides list and use the action menu at the end of its row. The agent stops presenting that deck in new conversations.
To stop all slides for this agent, turn the Slides switch off. Your deck selections stay as they are, so turning the switch back on restores them.
How do I check that slides are working?
Test the agent before you rely on it in front of visitors. The Preview button sits in the agent header on active agents.
- Confirm the Slides switch is on and your deck appears in the list.
- Open Preview and ask a question that the deck clearly answers.
- Confirm the agent shows a slide from the deck you expected.
- Ask an unrelated question and confirm no slide appears.
Slides are set up correctly when the right deck appears for a relevant question and stays away from an unrelated one.
Frequently asked questions about Docket slides
Which file types can my agent use as slides?
PDF and PPTX both work. Upload either to Knowledge Sources and it becomes available in the Slides list.
Does the Internal or External setting control which decks my agent can present?
No. For Marketing Agents, the Sharing setting on a file makes no difference to slides. Internal files appear in the Slides list and can be added and presented exactly like External ones. Sharing governs whether a file can be shared outside your organization through a shareable link, so set it on its own merits rather than to fix slide behavior.
My deck is not in the Slides list. What should I check?
Check three things, in this order: the file is in Knowledge Sources, its ingestion has finished, and it is a PDF or PPTX. Changing Sharing to External will not bring a deck into the list.
Do I have to turn the Slides switch on before I add decks?
No. The Slides list is fully usable with the switch off, so you can build the list first and switch it on when you are ready.
Does adding a deck to Slides also add it to the agent's knowledge?
No, these are separate. Slides decides what the agent can show. Knowledge Base, behind Customize Sources, decides what the agent can answer from. Add the file in both places if you want the agent to both quote it and present it. See Selecting Knowledge Sources for an Agent.
I updated the deck. Does the agent use the new version?
A deck synced from an integration such as Google Drive updates when that source syncs. A deck you uploaded directly needs the new version uploaded to Knowledge Sources.
The agent only shows a slide when I ask for one. Can it offer them on its own?
The agent presents a slide when it judges one to be relevant, so a question closely matching a deck's topic is the reliable way to trigger it. If a deck never appears for questions it clearly answers, check that the deck is in the list and the switch is on, then test the exact wording a visitor would use.
